2025, held together
Holding community and imagination through a hard year
This has been a hard year.
A year of grief layered on top of uncertainty. Of systems under strain. Of communities carrying more than their share, often without the language—or the space—to make sense of it all.

When I look back at 2025, I don’t see milestones or highlights. I see moments like these: people gathered around tables, notes covering walls, questions spoken out loud that didn’t yet have answers. I see neighbors, educators, organizers, and civic leaders doing the quiet work of staying in relationship with one another when it would have been easier to retreat.
Much of my work this year happened in ordinary rooms. In community spaces. In classrooms. In conversations where the future wasn’t something we planned so much as something we tried to feel our way toward—together.
Looking back, I see these moments as part of a larger pattern: communities trying to understand who they are becoming in the midst of real pressure, and practicing that future in small, human ways. Through listening. Through care. Through the courage to stay present even when the path forward felt unclear.
This collage is a small record of that practice.
Not everything we carried. Not everything we lost.
But enough to remember what mattered—and how much strength lives in simply showing up for one another.
